Can hosts see my messages?

- Hosts never see your name, account or contact details. Names, addresses and phone numbers are swapped for placeholders on your device before anything is sent. What you write in the message itself is still read by the host’s PC to answer it.
- Lokarri runs open AI models on hosts’ own GPUs. On the very hardest tasks, the largest models from big AI can still go further.
- Hosts’ PCs use electricity while they work, like any computer. Nothing new is built to run Lokarri.
- Hosts are paid from ad money and a share of Member dues, based on the work their PC does.
- Lokarri pays back the electricity your PC uses while it runs Lokarri jobs.
- Uses the Uptime Institute’s 2023 industry-average PUE of 1.58, meaning about 37% of a datacenter’s power goes to cooling and other overhead instead of computing. Applied to the DOE’s 176 billion kWh for 2023 and EIA’s 10,791 kWh per home.
- Berkeley Lab estimates US datacenters used 17 billion gallons directly for cooling in 2023, plus 211 billion gallons through the power plants making their electricity. Daily figures are those totals divided by 365. An Olympic pool holds about 660,000 gallons.
- ChatGPT and Gemini use your chats to train AI by default, with a setting to turn it off. ChatGPT’s ads appear on its Free and Go plans.
